Job Title: Sr. PHP Developer

Location:  Birmingham, MI

Duration: Permanent Direct Hire

Interview Process:  Phone first then in person and/or video (Skype) Depending on location of candidate

Job Summary:

• The PHP Developer, as part of the production support team, will maintain and enhance enterprise software systems that service a large community of users.
• This individual must possess a wide knowledge of development tools and methodologies.
• Above all the ideal candidate will be a problem solver with critical reasoning skills and a strong attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

• Write clean, well-documented PHP code in order to maintain current production systems.
• Deal with tight deadlines and changing requirements.
• Collaborate with IT staff to solve new and existing technical challenges.
• Work with people at all levels in the organization using both written and oral communication.
• Support diverse network of software, hardware and process solutions for staff and customers.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical customer issues.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis using SQL tools.
• Represent the IT team as a technical consultant to various internal project teams and staff.
• Provide as part of the on-call rotation for technical emergencies.
• Work in concert with IT Service Operations team to develop and ensure adherence to methodologies, standards, and procedures.
• Create and maintain detailed records of events, issues and resolutions.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or related field or relevant work experience.
• 2+ years work experience as a developer, technical analyst and/or tester.

Demonstrate proficiency in:

• PHP including experience with PHP Frameworks (Symfony2, Zend, Prado).
• Experience with Web standards including XML,JSON,HTML,CSS and Javascript.
• Apache.
• PostgreSQL / MS SQL / MySQL.
• Other Scripting Languages (Python, BASH, Batch, PERL).
• Linux OS (Ubuntu / CentOS).
• Source Control (SVN / Git).
• Web Services - SOAP, REST or other similar services.
• Agile Development Methodologies.
