Job Title: Datastage Developer

Location: Columbus, OH

Job Description:

Our Client's Commercial Lending team is looking for a Senior level ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Developer to assist on project demand. This role will be required to learn and model using a variety of different ETL tools and databases. Current ETL tools consist of SSIS and DataStage, Databases include SQL server, Oracle, Event Hub (kafka) and DB2. Candidate will need to lead their own work and do dual duty on both Datastage and SQL. Candidate will also be required to develop, maintain and enhance code for new projects and current bank deliverables, ensure all IT SDLC processes are documented and practiced, work closely with the Enterprise Information team, and cross impact other bank applications as code and processes change.

Key Responsibilities:

Translate requirements and data mapping documents to a technical design.
Develop, enhance and maintain code following best practices and standards.
Create and execute unit test plans. Support regression and system testing efforts.
Debug and problem solve issues found during testing and/or production.
Communicate status, issues and blockers with project team.
Support continuous improvement by identifying and solving opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or military experience in related field (preferably computer science).
At least 5 years of experience in ETL development (Datastage and SQL SSIS).
Kafka Stream Processing
At least 5 years of experience writing SQL queries, troubleshooting.
Star Schema design and coding (Dimension and Fact Table design)
Understanding of enterprise data warehousing best practices and standards.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organization skills and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in financial services (banking) industry.
Focus on customer service
Willingness and aptitude for continuous improvement
Event Hub / Query Hub experience would be a plus

Maintaining all developed applications with respect to enhancements and bug fixes
Designing and developing custom solutions to address various business needs in order to drive efficiency within the organization.
Designing and creating data interfaces to integrate corporate or 3rd party systems.
Continually migrating solutions to newer technologies to stay up to date with industry best practices.
Manage, mentor, and groom other developers on the team.

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 5-10 years of experience.

Knowledge/Skills

Excellent skills in C#, .NET technologies, WebAPI
Ability to design and implement Restful APIs.
Ability to design and implement scalable, fault tolerant, highly complex systems.
Excellent understanding of caching strategies and technologies
Ability to design and implement component based SPAs with Javascript and Javascript framework technologies – i.e. Angular, VueJS, React.
Ability to guide and teach junior members of the team including performing code reviews, enforcing department standards, and instructing team members on new technologies
Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS
Excellent understanding of Relational and Non-Relational data stores – i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB, Mongo DB.
Design and Implement complex designs with a high degree of visual and functional integrity
Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications
Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications
Ability to mentor, manage, and groom other developers
