Job Title: Network Systems Engineer

Location: Long Island City, NY

Job Description:

• The client is seeking a Network Systems Engineer with experience in the planning, design, deployment, and support of robust wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• The network engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and management of current wide area, wireless and local area networks ensuring high availability and adequate network security. In addition, must perform research, analysis and recommendations for products and services to meet new technologies, and upgrades as organizational needs change. Must create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks, and manage maintenance and license agreements.

Required Skills:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or related computer or engineering field
• Minimum of eight years full time network experience with hands on experience in implementation and administration of network devices.
• Candidate must possess strong experience in key network technologies and protocols such as IP routing (EIGRP, RIP), LAN switching (VLAN, VTP, Spanning-tree, Link Aggregation, Virtual Switching System (VSS), SNMP, FCoE, QoS,TCP/IP, PPP, EVPL circuits, Wireless Access Points and Network Management.
• Candidate must have hands-on experience in Cisco routers (7200, 2800, 2900), Cisco catalyst switches (6500, 4500, 3850, 3750, 3750X, 3560, 3560X, 2900), Nexus (5K, 2K) and MDS series fabric switches, network security (Cisco Firewall, URL Filtering, Intrusion Prevention, Sniffer, Layer 2 Security features), Cisco wireless access point ( WPA2, Access Control Server) Websense, and Cisco and F5 load balancers.
• Candidate must have experience in proactive network support, network architecture and design, network solution development, troubleshooting, executive escalation, technical documentation and communication skills.
• Must be able to handle network integration, Data Center re-design and operational support activities
• Proficiency in writing and speaking the English language
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship.

Qualifications:

• Current CCNA or higher Cisco certification
• VOIP implementation and ITP
