Job Title: Senior SQL Server DBA

Duration: Long Term

Location: Westport, CT, US

 

Qualifications:

• We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA with a minimum of 5 years of production support experience to support ongoing client engagements in the Southwest, CT area.  The role will require supporting a large SQL Server database environment for a financial services client.  Some of the project responsibilities include:
• Monitor and manage large SQL Server environment including versions 2003, 2008 2012, and 2014
• Respond to and troubleshoot user issues with the environment
• Support application developers with troubleshooting and database performance tuning
• Monitor and perform database backups and recoveries
• Monitor and support database disaster recovery
• Possible after hour and weekend on call to resolve issues remotely.

Required skills

• Good documentation skills
• Experience providing operational support and providing on-call support for a production environment
• Experience with PowerShell
• Experience with SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition
• Experience with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition
• Experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012
• Experience with SQL2014 is a plus
• Experience with Always On and T-SQL is required
• Must be able to work extended hours if required during an issue or deployment.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SQL Server issues.
• Configure and Monitor SQL Server backups.
• Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server networking.
• Configure and troubleshoot Windows Server storage.
• Excellent Communication skills
