Job Title: Windows Azure Monitoring Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 6+ months

Skills Required:

•  Strong familiarity with Windows Azure

       - Storage, Networking, CDN

       - Windows Azure Media Services

•  Filing CRI requests/ working with Ops

•  Familiarity with networking

       - Netmon / wireshark, HTTP protocal, TCP communications, Load balancing, Firewalls / NAT

•  Familiarity with multimedia concepts

       - Encoding video

       - Streaming videos over a network vs. progressive downloading content

       - Codecs

Detailed JD / Responsibility  

• 5+ years of operational or support for online services, operational, support, IT operations, monitoring
• Provide real time monitoring of a service availability dashboard taking proactive measures to ensure service availability
• Provide feedback to the development teams relating to alerts fired and actions taken
• Participate in RCA and service health protection activities
• Directly engage with account team, end Customer and key partners to alert them to an issue and provide recommendations to maximize service availability
• Help envisage extending the initial tenant level solution to ultimately make into an offering for others
• Provide tracking and reporting on a daily basis
• Quickly develop client relationships and trust, and ensure client/partner expectations are being set and met
• Communicate escalation findings clearly and confidently to executive levels within the customer and within Microsoft
• Provide training and documentation feedback, updating role documentation as needed

Remarks/ Special Needs

These positions are for 24 X 7 support; resource should be flexible to work on any shift that client would ask.
